I just made a slideshow of one of my favorite weddings of the year, the wedding of Shuxia & Jeroen. You can find the slideshow here.

So why was this one of my favorite weddings of the year? Well, mainly because we just had lots of fun.

Bianca & Tom: marriage in Waalre

A couple of weeks ago Bianca & Tom got married. Luckily they asked me to start photographing in the morning, during their getting ready. I always like taking photos in the morning, before the wedding starts. It has a special kind of atmosphere that is different from the rest of the day. Early in the afternoon we (Tom & Bianca in the beautiful old Mercedes of her father) went to the Waalre city hall for the wedding ceremony. After the ceremony we did a photo shoot in the old city hall of Valkenswaard, where art gallery De Kunstkeuken is located these days. Because the weather was so great we also had a short outside photo session on the way to the reception, dinner and party location, Herberg de Taamvenhoeve in Valkenswaard. I have to say that I really enjoyed my day.

Before we get to the photos I want to give a shout-out to Starlight Licht & Geluid, who did a great job DJing the party. These guys rock! And now for the photos.

Shuxia & Jeroen: married in Eindhoven

A couple of weeks ago Shuxia en Jeroen were married in Eindhoven. The ceremony took place in museum Kempenland. This location was only recently added to the list of possible wedding locations in Eindhoven. After the ceremony and reception we had a photo shoot at the TU/E campus (Technical University of Eindhoven). That was lots of fun. My favorite element of the day must be their mode of transportation though. You’ll see what I mean below. Here are a couple of my favorite photos of the day.

Cheyenne and Jorge wedding – Sint-Niklaas Belgium

Wow, what a couple! Cheyenne and Jorge have a very special story. Last year Cheyenne was on vacation in Cuba, where her father lives. In Cuba she met a salsa singer named Jorge. It was love at first sight. Regretfully Cheyenne had to return home after three weeks to start school. Well, she didn’t actually make it to school very often because she just couldn’t concentrate on her life back home, she could only think about Jorge. So, because she couldn’t live without him any longer she flew back to Cuba and enrolled at a university in Havana to learn Spanish. Now, about a year later they are inseparable, and still very much in love.

Cheyenne and Jorge are also a very fun couple to hang out with. It is pretty much impossible to take anything but great photos of them. Even the rain during the photo shoot didn’t change that. I am very happy that they chose me to be their photographer during their wedding day.

Eveliene & Daniël’s wedding – in Geldrop and Eindhoven

Daniël en Eveliene are a very fun couple, they just click. As my father in law would say, they are like two peas in a pod. I am happy that I was able to photograph their wedding. Fromt he first moment that I met them I figured that their wedding day would be pretty relaxed, and it did indeed turn out that way.

Eveliene are Daniël were married civily in “de Villa” in Geldrop. “De Villa” was build in 1868 by a rich textile producer as a house for him and his family. Years later it was purchased by the city of Geldrop. These days it is in use as one of three possible wedding locations in the city of Geldrop-Mierlo. After their civil wedding, Daniël en Evenliene went to the Marantha church in Eindhoven to be married before God. To me the church ceremony was especially beautiful to take photos of.

Cheyenne & Jorge: Preview

I photographed a wedding yesterday with a very good looking couple. I haven’t had time to look at all the photos yet but I did find the following two treasures. I liked them so much that I wanted to share them right away.

Linda and Robert’s Country Wedding – Horst America

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph a very special event, Linda and Robert’s wedding. Every wedding I photograph is a special day to me but this day was extra special because Linda is my sister.

After living together for about 15 years Linda and Robert decided to get married. At first they only wanted to have an informal wedding, without any bells and whistles. But along the way their plans changed. My sister Linda is very creative and she wanted to do something creative with her wedding. Because Linda and Robert live on a 19th century farm, which they have been restoring for a while, the theme of the day became “country wedding”. The yard was beautifully decorated with all sorts of details and one of the stables was turned into a dinning hall.

Not only was the theme brought forward in the decorations but also very much so in the vehicle that took Linda and Robert to the city hall in Horst aan de Maas in Limburg. Their mode of transportation was a two horse carriage, which is a mode of transportation that I think is often overlooked by would-be married couples.

The day of the wedding regretfully brought some rain and lots of clouds, but it didn’t spoil the fun. As far as I could see everyone was having a good time, and we were able to make some very nice photos.
