Today I have a couple of photos of Ella again. I like this little series that I made a week or two ago. Ella is playing in the kitchen. At this age the most simple things are usually the best toys: a wooden frame to sit on and a little jar with a lid to open and close. As the Dutch saying goes: a children’s hand is easily filled.

Flashback Friday – Sunrise

Last year we were on vacation in a beautiful villa on the Spanish East Coast. We had a very nice view over the Mediterranean. One of the nice things about the East Coast, of any country, is that you can see the sun rise over the sea or ocean. At least, that’s what I thought. In our case it turned out that the village where we were staying was on the corner of a peninsula, which made it that the sun rose over land, and not above the sea. I found this out when I woke up early one morning to photograph the sunrise. So, not exactly what I expected. But luckily a sunrise looks good pretty much everywhere you are, over land or over sea.

I’m working on editing the photos of a photo shoot I did a while ago with a little boy named Eliam. We started taking some photos in the studio, but because the weather was so good we went outside to take some more photos in the yard. That was lots of fun. Here are some photos.

The kids

Hey, I wanted to show a couple of photos of the kids. The first photo is of Ella while she is drinking from her bottle. She pretty much only drinks from the bottle anymore before she goes to sleep. It helps her relax.

The next two photos were also taken at night. After dinner, before the kids go to bed, they are usually pretty active. For me that’s a nice opportunity to practice my new photo shoot style. New style? Yes. I did some research into the way that my favorite photographers do a photo shoot and it appears that I have been going about it a bit too much in a static way. In the future I want to have people move more during photo shoots. So, kids are the perfect subjects to practice this new style on because they move about a lot. At least, my kids do.

Pinata

A while ago I did a photo shoot for a friend of ours. Not a photo shoot of her but a shoot of the pinatas that she makes. She started her own business where she makes and sells pinatas and cakes. She is really good. Her company is called Kokoppu.

A week or so ago I did a photo shoot with an extremely good looking male model…. OK, I was the model, a little bit of self confidence is allowed, right?

Anyway, after I set up the lighting and put my camera on a tripod I asked Melissa to take the photos. I think they turned out really well.
