Willem-Jan and Patricia’s wedding was a day full of variety. The schedule was filled with several different locations in Noord-Holland. Luckily the planning was set up in such a way that there was no stress about needing to be somewhere at a certain time.
The day started at the tip of Noord-Holland, in Den Helder. If you are not used to living near the water, it is hard to not be impressed by the beautiful landscape over there. The sun was shining too, so I was in the right mood by the time I arrived at Patricia’s parent’s house.
After Willem-Jan had picked up his bride to be, we went to Huisduinen for the photo shoot. The great view on the embankment by the sea in Huisduinen was ideal for a a couple of great photos. The location was also great for some geography lesson by the way. I didn’t realize that you could see the island of Texel so well from Den Helder.
After the photo shoot, the next item on the planning was the wedding ceremony. The ceremony took place in the Huisduiner kerkje, which by the way is the place where Willem-Jan and Patricia first met during a friend’s wedding ceremony. After the ceremony there was a relaxed lunch at Nogal Wiedus in Huisduinen.
The next location of the day was the Sint Jan de Doper church in Noord-Scharwoude. I am a real fan of wedding ceremonies in churches, and I was not disappointed here. The location was very nice, with interesting light. The ceremony was led by Willem-Jan’s uncle by the way. That is always very special.
The rest of the day took place at Chateau Marquette in Heemskerk. Also a super location with very nice surroundings! After all the guests had arrived from the previous location there was a reception, which took place outside so everyone could enjoy the sunshine. A little while later the dinner stared, in a beautiful room inside the castle. The day was closed with a fantatisc party!
